one little note the f100 was usually 2wd and or short box the long box 4wd was always f150, and recheck your gvwr figures my 2000 f250 has a gvwr of 8600 but weighs 7100 that leaves 1500 for load capacity that equals 3/4 ton. also gvwr of the truck may be more than half ton but the recommended tires can't carry that much weight
who knows why they number them the way they do sometimes, what about the GT400 ? was it a 400 engine ? 400 horsepower ? 400 dollars ?no, no and no. It was 400 feet from the factory door to the guys office i beliere , go figure that one out.
I thought gt350, and gt 500 refered to the max power in the classes they were built to compete in.
