450 traction when it's wet

So I'm on my second set of Michelins and I still feel like I don't get good traction in the rain. Currently running Agilis HD-Z tires all around. It's the drives that I am mainly concerned about. Would running a more aggressive drive help or is it just the nature of these trucks?

I think you are SOL as far as finding a tire that will provide much wet traction.
Add weight to the bed, that would help more than any tire change.
Also, are you using the weather mode? It will modulate the throttle to help keep it from spinning tires in low traction situations.

Yeah, add some weight. Even the stock Contis sucked in wet weather. Bed is too light for the type of tires on the truck. They work a lot better when weighed down.

I have mixed use tires installed right now....traction under any conditions is not a problem...but...high traction tires based on deep thread patterns are noisy and will road hum pretty loud.

I've had zero issues running Toyo m920 all around in about anything mother nature can throw at it. An all season, 3 peak tire will do better than a more aggressive tread.
Are you still running the stock shocks? If so, that could be 90% of your issue. The stocks have almost no rebound and this can cause the rear of the truck to bounce and lose traction. I noticed this effect the most on curves in the highway that are bumpy. I could feel the rear trying to skip sideways. If the bumps were bad enough, the traction control would shut off the cruise. I upgraded to Bilstein 5100s and the problem went away.

Im running 5100's as well. I have a 62 gallon tank in my bed and even completely topped off both tanks I still slip and slide in the rain.

Aux fuel tank weight is too far forward. You need some weight over the rear axle.

I keep my 5th wheel hitch in year round so not much room for anything else. It's 300lbs but doubt that's enough to help.

Lots of room behind the hitch for sandbags or lift weights.

It helps, I noticed a difference when I switched from a 5th wheel to gooseneck hitch.

How many miles, what is it geared, how hard do you drive, spin on take off at red/stop, or wait until last second to start slowing down?
with aux tank and 5th still in bed, and main tank, you got 1,100lbs extra weight, on top of truck weighinh in around 7,500-8.500, maybe try slowing down sooner.

This might be a silly question. I can't find the 450s listed in any of the Bilstien's vehicle lists. Are they the same and you guys are just ordering shocks for a 350?

I find it's lateral traction that's mostly the issue. Quick weight transitions will break the rear loose. Need to balance the weight as it's just a nose heavy platform.

Its a 450, weighs over 9500 pounds and can spin the tires on a glued road. F450 only come with one gearing, low. Only way to keep the truck from spinning is adding weight to the bed behind the axle, it is just way too light compared to the rest of the truck. Even in 4WD that back end an fly around on a turn in the snow.
