Just bought a 1967 F100 with regulation 352 from Texas. All original (I think) . Runs fine but smokes really bad . 1Qt. of oil in half hour idling.
Compression runs even at 100- 120 on each cylinder but plugs are very oily when I removed them. Because all cylinders are equal and all plugs are oily
I am thinking Valve seals but need direction??? Any other ideas?
It's just worn out. Valve guides, rings, seals are probably all gone. Leaded gas and the old oil formulas did not promote long engine life.
Valve seals rarely cause smoke at idle unless the guides are also shot. Idle smoke is usually rings. If it was just bad valve seals, it would mainly smoke after you rev it and let off the throttle.
Sounds like the oil rings may be stuck or worn out. There are some possible things to try, either seafood or maybe trans fluid poured through the card as its running. Others may have some things to try, but the bottom line is the engine may need to be refreshed.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
I figured that when I got it but for the cost of the seals I might just try it. Thanks, Dave
