Question Trac-lok conversion question

Howdy all,
I just got a Trac-lok carrier in the mail today. Once the weather hits spring in missouri I plan on swapping out the worn out peg-leg carrier for this locking rear one. I've got the factory manuals and have some reading ahead. I guess I've got two questions now.
First, do I have to put in the antilock brake ring? Antilock brakes have been an annoyance from the get go. They pulse when I don't want them too and don't pulse the way I'd like when they do. If I leave it off, what am I getting myself into?
The second question is on the part number. I (proudly) owna '90 F-150. The # on the casting is E7TW 4205-FB. Am I going to have any problems with part interchange with my current axels? I got two different answers from two differnt dealers on the part. One said there were too many # options to answer whether it would work. The other said that there was pretty much no difference in the 8.8 locking rear end carriers beyond the # of splines.
I guess that's three questions. I promise that there'll be more to come.

Thanks in advance folks.
-John R.
