I have a 1985 Ford F-150 that has screwy tallights. When I turn them on sometimes they don't turn on. The front lights work but the back ones don't. The hazards and the reverse lights work. If they don't come on I can slam my door and they turn on. Once they are on they stay on but when driving down the road they flicker a bit. I have pretty much determined it's not a ground because my brake lights work and are very bright and not dim. So I am thinking about running a new running lights wire from front to back. Unless I can actually find the problem in the wire without too much problem. If I run a new wire, where should I splice it into? Thanks for the help.
Thanks Mil1ion. I checked those spots and the wires were fine. I was working on hooking up a new license plate light and I accidentally banged my bumber and my lights flickered. So I thought the wire must be screwed up near the back somewhere. So I went poking around and ended up temporarily hooking up a ground from the frame to the box. Guess what? That's the problem! I didn't think I was a ground but it was. So I ended up hooking a permanent wire from the box the the frame and all is well. Just to keep you informed!
