Saw on the news that they caught a tail light theft ring in the Houston / Galviston area. The article said that police are warning to take precautions against theft. I have a tonneau but did this in addition. Only did one side as the tailgate won't open unless they get at both latches.
Looks like one is getting rearraigned, another is still on the loose, and another bailed out. WTH? They shoulda kept whoever they caught, and increased bail (as I'm sure they're all repeat offenders).

It's Harris county, the DA is probably arranging job placement, subsidized housing, and gift certificates for them as we speak.
Dunno, but there definitely ain't no "get the lead out free" card, if they're in my neighborhood...
I know it's texas but are you really allowed to shoot someone for stealing property? Around here that would cost you a pretty penny to defend in court and still probably see some jail time.

Texas Penal Code Section 9.421 states a person can use deadly force to protect tangible, movable property from another's imminent commission of theft during the nighttime or to prevent another who is fleeing immediately after committing theft during the nighttime and is escaping with property
yes it is legal and you can shoot them in the back only if it is dark.
