Rear right speaker doesn't work

Today I heard a cracking sound and then my stereo sounded funny, I've decided that it's the right rear speaker, it has no sound other than a noise similar to when you turn your tv to a station that you don't get. I've also decided that something was wired wrong when my kenwood head unit was installed because when I change the balance to full right side, you can barely hear anything but when you change it to full left you can hear it loud and clear, but when everything is even, it does seem to come out evenly on both sides. Any ideas?

Also when you change it to full right side the woofer doesn't make any noise, but when full left it does, in fact everything left of even (real technical terms i know) it makes noise.

Sounds like bad wiring. Who did the install of your HU? If you paid for it, take it back and have it fixed. If not, I guess you're gonna have to pull out the HU and check the wiring. Are you using an amp? An amp can cause balance and fading problems if you only use one output from the HU. Make sure you check the phase of the speaker connections, out of phase speakers can really sound like crap. Hope that helps

Someone wired everything on the left side of the deck. Your right side speaker connections should be unused.

Was it always this way? If everything worked well before and only now do you have a problem? .....if so then i would check for crossed wires. If the wires are all solid i would buy a new deck if you can live with it being brain damaged.

Waiting for you, answer the above q, to check the fader, and wires on the back of the deck to try to venture anything else. Wish i was there.......

I forgot to check it without the xm radion on, ie. with a CD or radio on, it turned out one of the solders on the output of my XM radio cracked. Guess I gotta re-solder it.
