ART rotors
I have noticed a slight squelling noise when I apply the brakes. It is intermittent and usually happens right before the truck comes to a stop. I have checked my installation and everything seems in order.
Anybody have any ideas on what might be causing this?
The truck is 2 wheel drive with the V10.
)These things are at each end of the caliper and can be seen when the pads are removed... (on a side note...how 'bout them springs that connect the front pads together? Fun to put back on, huh!?)
OK...well these things have to be able to slide into place onto the caliper body with tension. Sometimes it seems that the tangs can get bent causing them to be able to move up against the rotor when you apply the brakes (as you descibed.)
Remove the offending caliper and see if the clip things move. If so, remove the pads and bend the things, clips..whatever, so that they will not move at all.
I learned this through experience. It should be the culprit. It was for me.
>the caliper. (I know I sound real technical here...
) I haven't been into my brakes yet,(and don't plan to anytime soon)but,could these be anti-rattle clips?
