Ok my truck has stage 2 injectors, I'm pretty sure my chip went bad truck started acting up, pulled chip and truck runs better except it misses and hits hard it's not as bad when chip was in my truck, it was an old super chips that they don't make anymore. is hydra the best bet or is there better options? The truck is main stock billet wheel and stage 2 injectors K&N setup stock auto trans, going to change out intake to banks and prob a stage 2 trans upgrade
All sensors are new and glow plug relays
glow plugs, ipr was rebuilt and reman hpop about 20,000 miles
You will need a tuner "chip" of some sort or a reprogrammed PCM with those modified injectors. If you buy a Hydra without modified injector tunes, you will need to purchase tunes for modified injectors.
Welcome to the FTE!
Hopefully you were able to get out and enjoy this unseasonably warm day we had in the south.
Have you pulled codes? If you took out the super chips or whatever was in there and it's still missing I'd get that sorted before buying a new tuner.
The truck will never run right with factory tuning on non factory injectors. It'll run but they sound like hell and road manners are horrible. It could very well be throwing codes for contribution imbalance because of the tuning mismatch already.
So where did you get the super chip? I’m assuming your stage 2 injectors are single shot? That said where did you get a super chip with single shot tunes?

It's not throwing any codes without the chip in it, when the chip was is it the main code that come up P0603 it threw other codes for cruise control with my truck doesn't have

So that chip was never programed for that truck to begin with. So we probably need to dive a little deeper here. You said the injectors have around 20k on them, did you own the truck at that time? Who did the work and who built the injectors?

Truck come with the chip in it and was reprogrammed by a shop for the stage 2, when the top end of motor was redone, the injectors are 160cc 80% single shot

Edit : What are you using to pull these codes?
The chip was reprogrammed for the work that was done to the truck, truck ran fine for 20,000 miles after top end was redone the injectors are black cloud the injectors tested fine I did the work and someone that's a diesel mechanic

Whoever programmed it didn't use the right hex code or whatever it's called. That's why you would get trouble codes for equipment that your truck never had. I don't know if it's the same with every mismatch but for me at least when a tuner tried it on my E99 it threw the reported engine rpm off almost 200 rpm at highway speeds. The gauge cluster was reading one speed and Forscan was reporting another. To be honest I don't really know how it would even run. They must have tweaked the injection timing or something. How could the PCM ever control an engine it doesn't even have accurate data on how fast it's spinning?

The person that reprogramed the chip just retired at 74 and closed shop and I don't know of anyone who can program an old chip that has the stuff to do it, looked into hydra and they don't have stage two tunes available.
Gawd prices have gone up. Here's a link for Jelibuilt, it's kinda spendy but he can sell you the Hydra and write you some custom tunes to match your mods. There are others out there too, but he's who I've had luck with so he's who I'm comfortable recommending. You get 30 days of free revisions to fine tune what you want from the truck so take advantage and get her dialed in.

I'm waiting to hear something from Full Force to see what they recommend, since they sell hydra chips my HPOP and injectors come from them, I think they offer Jelibuilt tunes, its hard to remember from looking at all kinds of sites that offer hydra
