Not much $$$. I am having the work done. If the mods are major, I will just stick with the same engine, but if the mods are reasonably priced compared to the cost of the engine I would like to consider it. I use the van for full load distance driving for a courier service. Thanks.
You wouyld have to buy a van the same model as yours with the engine you want in it so that you had everything that was needed. Then you just start swaping stuff. I changed engine types in my truck. It could save you money if you find a used engine in good running shape at a good price and if you plan on doing a lot of the work yourself. There are many hours of labour involved in a swap like that.

Nothing...if you know how to unlock the potential of 300 cubes.
Otherwise, you ask for a swap.
The v8 isn't any easy swap, although it is a bolt in, but the diesel involves swapping pretty much everything under the sheetmetal, all the way to the fuel tank.
Since the van is a HD version, the 460 would bolt in, too. But, not everyone wants the lousy mpgs in that case.
