Well bud, I already answered that question, and if it is click bait to you, then why do you keep clicking on it?
I stated it was just for fun, so give it up.
Guess I missed the just for fun part, maybe it was somewhere between your ram lasted longer and your Superduty was "self destructing" over a ~$10 part failing at over 200k miles lol.
Those pieces were gone on both my trucks within the first 1,000 miles. Sold both trucks without replacing them and nobody knows the difference. Gate closes and sounds all the same with or without them.

The very best I ever did was back when I had my RAM 2500 CTD.

So as jcb804 mentioned that they were missing on his trucks so it seems no after effects if their missing? Wonder what they really do if they don’t actually seem to do much for absorbing closing of the tail gate at the top edge? I thought they were a sort of bumper stop when closing the gate but maybe only for extreme slamming of the tail gate?
Mine are still in their place so I guess that’s good? Perhaps I could upgrade to a stainless steel screw that way this non used rubber bumper is more secure😂
It's happened to all of us, I'm sure, myself included. I ended up using sheetrock molly bolts on mine, worked great.
That looks pretty solid, I like your idea better than the plastic drywall anchors I used on mine.

Those look better than OEM for sure. And by the way, I just spent $12 for a Ford OEM for one side, just to get another crappy plastic screw that's too short.

You went all in on that one. Holy moly the comments before and after you told the truth were hilarious.
