I plan on building a garage like that also
My 2 car garage (full of stuff) isnt near big enough even if i have it completely empty
Especially since I am restoring that 66 F-100, and i Have a tranny to rebuild in my daily driver
After the tornado of 98 ripped through here, relocating our old garage to our negihbors yard, were were planning on building a HUGE garage, like you could fit 4 cars in it, there were 2 doors in the front and one in the back for a riding mower and such, unfortunatly contractor ran away with money and we just sold the place as is, with the garage half way finished, and now we have a mini garage with about 1/2 a foot of clearance on each side with the truck in it
$30.00 @ wolly-world for 15 point service/change, w/castrolsyntec oil and motorcraft filter..............figure WTH, save the knuckles for real work that needs to be done on it. ALWAYS check for leaks and watch them while they are doing it - not off shopping. It doesn't take long to rack up 3k, so they know I'll show out like a nut basket overflowing with unkindness. I do like the way they have in the 'puter that my '96 bronco color is moron...........
The oil change is more important than the $1.00 soda pop that i use-ta drink every day - water is cheeper. Now - Honey, sinuwas not doing anything you go get the beer while ! watch the truck
I always change my own oil now. I went to an Instant OIL Change one time and went to check my oil a couple of weeks later and it was about 1/4 to 1/2 inch ABOVE the full mark! Also know a guy that I work with who took it to one and they forgot to tighten the drain plug.... ruined the motor. They ended up paying to have it fixed. I would say if your going to pay someone to change your oil take it to the dealer. Around here they charge about the same as everyone else and probably have more competent help.
OK, you guys are scaring me. Now im paranoid. I think Im gonna go check my oil now...
I was reading how that one guy took apart all those oil filters and tested them and stuff, well come to find out the pennzoil filter that super lube put on my truck is really a FRAM in disguise Fram is the worst filter to have. I think Im gonna change my oil tomorrow
oh absolutly, like i said speedy lube places use the cheapest pos parts they can find. Which for oil filters means fram usually.
Sometimes the speedy lube places will talk the customer into letting them replace the fuel filter or pcv.
I had one car i was working on trying to diagnose a stumble, i had a hell of a time before i figured out it was an incorect pcv valve that speedy lube put on. I called them up and they told me they usually stock these "one size fit all pcvs", they'll use the same ones on fords, gms, imports, whatever.
Well since its winter here 9 months out of the year year I take my Bronco to a quick-lube place. They do a good job and know me by name. My Bronco has over 130,000 miles on it and it is still running strong (well Ford made the 351, 302 underpowered in the 90's)
The trickle down theory is anyone not suitable for working at a dealership, trickles down to the fast lube places. If you have to pay to have your oil changed, get it changed at a dealer that does not have a ton of BBB complaints.
I change my own oil now, but, before I did I always took the vehicles to a Ford or Chevy dealer. Well worth the extra $10 each trip not to have your vehicle worked on by an idiot or totally dishonest or ruthless person.
Yap: Change my own oil,( i built a shop with a lift). That way everytime i change oil or anything else i can keep an eye on everything.
I've heard to many stories about fastlubes.
