Engine compatibility

Can you put a 2010 Ford explorer engine an tranny in 08 mountaineer.both are a 4.0

Sure. To be safe, I would use the ‘08 vehicle harness. (A bit of looking shows that this should be a straight drop in, though…)

Done the swap everything works except having issues with transmission..Sometimes it will go in gear other times not but wen it don't I can turn vehicle off an restart it then it will go in gear. But now it's not shifting after I get on the road.. scanner shows solenoid ABCD an ABCD electrical this tranny was working before put in my mountaineer. Also it has a rough idle since after the swap
