Header swap

I am planning on putting headers on my 95 F-250 7.5L. I think I want to use LandL over Hedman. (The only options that are available?) The only problem will be finding a Y-pipe. Would anyone know of one that would work with LandL headers? Or maybe there is a better option I'm not seeing out there?

If L&L doesn't sell it I wouldn't trust the fit. You will be better off finding a GOOD exhaust shop and having them custom make one after the headers are installed.

That is kinda what I figured it would be. Was hoping maybe someone had found one for their own project. I may just have to go with Hedman for this reason. I'm not one to let anyone else work on my truck.

Stan's used to do headers I believe for the 460.

If you come up without an option, consider building your own and buying a welder. Most shops are garbage for work here in Texas sadly. Build it how you want and your way, not how it is easy for them.

If your talking about Stan’s in Auburn, Washington, he closed up and auctioned off everything a few years ago.

Surprised that know one hasn’t picked up the Banks cad file and started processing them again.

Live just a couple miles from where Stan's used to be. Cranky old man but he did a great job. I guess that is what happens when you work with the public. Sadly, Stan's Headers is gone. Probably couple years ago.

I'm sure that is cheap.

Unsure where Stan's was based and sad to hear gone. Time marches on.

Carb truck ones probably fit from earlier trucks. Fox 5.0 headers fit the small blocks fine, yeah you need a custom Y-pipe. Heck I bet the I6 header is from 70s trucks and someone test fit it.

7.5L EFI heads use a different port shape and location, so earlier 460 carb-head headers WILL NOT WORK! If you're talking just the Y-pipe, yeah, custom if using L&L if they don't sell one to fit their headers...

But you're still half-right - SBF -based headers will still fit between carb- 302/351W and EFI 5.0 and 5.8s

I had Fox shorty headers on my '88 forever ago. Great upgrade for cheap and stock Y-pipe is garbage anyway.

Glad to know on the EFI exhaust port difference for the 7.5

Header swap

I was told that headers would not fit on a 88 F-150 4x4 with a manual trans. Is that true? Or was someone yanking my chain?

yank, yank, nudge, nudge, just specify, what trans you have, manual headers are harder to find.
