Got Halogen lights with my 2024 xlt. I drive alot on dark nights on back rural roads both town and state single lanes. These new brighter or whiter lights are new to me as far as type, cost, install needed etc. Any tips or types (led and hid are greek to me) that will improve the lights without getting too or illegal and changing the whole lighting system? plug and play would be ideal.

I swapped out halogens to LED several times in 2017 - 2022 models. Relatively inexpensive. Tons of options available on Amazon. Hikari were the best that I used after starting out with Beamtech.
My 2023 came with factory LED. So I can't really offer any advice on swapping them out on the 2023+ models because I have no idea if there were any significant changes in the housings on the back side.
You have the option to going LED at a significant cost, a couple hundred, or you can get upgraded halogens for $30-$50. With the LED you have to make sure that they are positioned correctly or you will give oncoming drivers severe glare. I have changed out my fog and backup bulbs to LEDs at a reasonable cost and I have not replaced my headlights on my 23 XLT yet. I will probably just upgrade to brighter halogens due to cost and to avoid the potential annoying problems that you can have when you change from halogen to LEDs. The downside to brighter halogens is a shorter lifespan. I am not sure if any Forscan changes are needed if you do this or if the anti flicker harness, that you will need, negates this.
