Another Set Back

Mechanic who installed cam came last night to start motor for "break-in" and it just pours smoke out of the driver side tailpipe and the oil filler cap and even the dist shaft area. When I got truck two years ago it DIDNT SMOKE!!!! but it has been sitting at body shop and mchaanics for two years. I am deeply disappointed and the oil vapor covered everything under the hood!!!! There is a hose from pass side of motor going into carb and it is sucking air when I pull it up out of vavle cover but the smoke is coming from driver side. I didnt tell mechanic but he told me to change oil before he started motor and I got a good sized cup of water before the motor oil drained out. I left it drain for two days. Are the rings stuck from sitting? Should I try some kinda ring unsticker? Will it get better?

The hose from the valve cover to the carb is the PCV, it is supposed to have vacuum on it. Sounds to me like a stuck ring or bad valve seal. You might want to try posting in the appropriate engine forum for some better ideas.
