Hey y'all I just got a quick question for y'all.
I have a good opportunity to get my hands on a '76 302 with a mild cam, Edelbrock Performer intake and a Holly carb (not sure of the cfm though), and it comes with two, not one but TWO C-4 trannies. All for $350!!!! And there is nothing wrong with the engine, it has been stored in the guy's garage for close to 10 years or so but it ain’t ceased up at all. Anyway, I saw one lil problem with the engine though...IT HAS A FRONT SUMP OIL PAN!!!! and my truck that I was going to put it in had a rear sump oil pan.
So after all of the info, my question to y'all is this:
Could I just turn the oil pan around so the sump is in the rear?
And if not could I just get a oil pan off of any 302 or does it have to be a specific 302?
So then how about the oil pan then? what year am I going for? could I just go to a junk yard and get one off of a 80 or 90 sumthing ford truck then or do I have to get an oil pan of the same year but out of a truck verses a car?
Thank you. So now I have the oil pan problem figured out.
However I got another question. I took out the 300 that came with my truck but I was wondering if I could use the oil pick up form my 300 on the 302?
