So it’s been a couple of years since I had any PPF (Paint Protection Film) done. The last time i did was about 2 years ago and had it done on an entire 2018 VW GTI. It cost me $1200. I recently got a quote (from the same shop) on my 24 F250 for PPF on the grill front end hood front fenders and front A-pillars for $2500! Does that seem steep to you? I know pricing will vary rom region to region and I do live in SW Florida and prices are high on everything around here but that just seems a little steep. Any thoughts on this or has anyone had any PPF done recently on their Superduty?
I got a quote of $4400 to do the front, door handle pockets, front of dually rear fenders and the bedsides above the side steps. Will be shopping for more quotes……
If you are getting it done correctly, by hand, without using pre-cut templates for your vehicle, where there are no seams on any exposed surfaces, and every painted surface is wrapped to perfection, I'd expect it to be $9000-$9500. If you are using pre-cut templates for your vehicle from a random local place, I'd expect it to cost $2500.

I bought film for mine, just the hood and fenders kit, was about $125. It has the letters cut out so a bit easier to install. I suspect the quote to be about right for the Superduty mainly due to it's size, lot of surface area to prep, especially if getting a full hood warp, with underedge. What film and whats the warranty of the film?
I paid around $1300 for the front 1/3rd of the hood and fenders and the whole front bumper. I was expecting better craftsmanship, but I guess I got what I got. I still need to have them fix the edges, but haven't had time to bring it to their shop. For that, it was custom cut... And that's not always the best way to do it, apparently. They cut around the lettering on the hood, which I wasn't expecting... It's noticeable that it was done by hand, let's just say.
Just get the specifics about what their plan is, then hold them to it. I didn't ask, so I guess I can only be so disappointed.

You may not have asked but that should have been disclosed prior to you getting the work done. I dont think I could deal with that. I will ask this question now of my guy.
I recently had PPF installed on the front bumper, partial hood, partial fenders, A & B pillars, roof back to sun roof, door handle cups and tint front windows. The total was $1500. I took advantage of a Christmas promo they offered and got 20% off of this price. I chose to have the film go over the recessed hood lettering. There are a few small bubbles but I prefer that over no protection had I opted for the letters to be cut out.
They have precut ones with different options such as to the edge, or underwrapped. You can get a full hood and fenders kit for $608, the letters are cut out. The reason all their hood kits have letters cut out is to make it easier to install with less chance of screwing up and having to reorder a replacement. While the guys with the videos make it look easy to install, getting the film to stick and stay put in the letters takes skill that comes from working with the film every day.
I installed the 18" on the F450, which was black and when done correctly the film frames each letter. The photo above shows what happens when the film is not properly centered or stretched. The film is stretched as it is laid down and shrunk in areas that are curved. I did a bumper once...once. Never again will I do a bumper. In fact if anyone wants to do the film on an F450 painted bumper I will sell you the kit for 1/2 price. I was going to remove the bumper and paint it to get rid of all the rock chips, and then PPF it off the truck, but never got around to it. Even have the paint sitting on a shelf.
I have the 18" hood, fender, and mirror kit for my new truck, it just got too cold before I got a chance to apply it. It goes on when the weather warms up and hope I have no chips in the meantime. $128 shipped, with the application kit included. They also included door edge strips and inner rocker kit. I guess they cut an inner kit and it got returned, its not something they list on their site.
Had PPF applied to several higher end cars in the past. Never was 100% happy with the results. If I ever got it done again would have the installer put it in writing they guaranteed no bubbles or lint specs in the film when I pick up the vehicle and that they would fix any defects that pop up in the first year. If they did not agree I would move on.
