I’m in need of some transmission rebuild literature.
I have a 42-52 light truck (open driveshaft) 3 speed transmission in my 51 M1.
I have average transmission experience but was hoping for either some literature, rebuild videos on this particular transmission. Another thing also was, who is the best supplier for new parts if needed?
I drained this transmission and a few extra pieces came out so I want to make it right.
Cheers!
Here is a place to start. I had bought his repair 'how-to' book (The Ins And Outs Of Early Ford Transmissions') and it was very helpful. Great resource to identify your transmission and how it is supposed to go together.
^^^^ that and get a shop manual. Reprints readily available. A caveat, if your roller bearings in counter shaft are serviceable, keep them. Word on the street is reproductions are junk.
