Boy have I got myself into a project! I decided to take my 1974 F100 4X4 XLT down to the frame and restore everything to better than new. But I have run into a real problem that so far I have not found an answer to.
When I took the cab off I knew I would put on a new set of Urethane mounts so I ordered a set to see what I would get with them before I removed the old mounts. The new bushings look great, but they do not come with any bolts or steel hardware. You're supposed to use the old ones! What's up with that!! Those things are rusty and in really bad shape, but I did get 5 of the 6 off so that they could be re-used. I will have to torch the last one off, which will make it unusealble. I can't find anyone who makes new hardware for this, so unless someone can point me in the right direction, I will have to go to the junk yard and try and remove more rusty hardware, or fab something new that will work.
I sure hope someone here has been through this and has a good solution, if you do, please post it.
This seems to be a common problem. Check around with some of the poly mount companies and see if you can find one that sells the COMPLETE hardware set.
Thanks Eric, but I've spent many many hours on the web and phone doing just what you mention. Most suppliers use "Energy Suspension" products and they don't make anything that would help, and their customer support was no help at all, they actually told me to check out the local wrecking yards.
If you know of some other Poly mount suppliers, please post a list and I will check them all out.
I'm about to do the same with my '74. Have the replacement cab sitting next to the older one eaten up by cancer. Keep us posted as to what you do - I haven't gotten to this part of the fun yet, but will in the next 6 weeks...
Before you cut it, take the torch and heat up the nut until it's red - then use a wrench and remove it. The heat expands the nut so it comes off easier, works every time...
take your old mounts to a ford dealer, I did this with
my 73's radiator support mounts and the parts guy matched them up to a late model truck. Ford used these type mounts
for awhile! I'll dig up the part #'s if you need them

The only thing really special is the bottom Washer with the threaded insert in it. You could get away with a large fender washer and locknut. Been there done that

[B]69, if you have the numbers I would really like them as this project is on my list also.
I just got back from the Ford Dealer and found after a little prodding that the parts are still available. I had called them on the phone before and got no-where, this time I took the old part in and said I was staying until "we" found a match. As it turns out, they did still have an old part book with the part numbers I needed. We then asked the computer to locate the parts and one was available one was superseeded, when we put the new number in....BINGO! Available. Here are the numbers and what I paid for them:
Old Number: D3TZ 1000155B available $6.56
Old Number: D3TZ1000396C interchange # EOTZ 1000396B available $20.33
