Lariat tail gate trim

I am nearing the completion of my 1978 Lariat restore. The only piece that I still have not found is the upper black and chrome piece on the tailgate that was unique to the Lariats. LMC and others have been out of stock on these parts for 3 years now (I check monthly). I found a guy selling the ones shown in the pictures below. They are not perfect but better than others I have found. Can these be cleaned up and the dents removed to the point that you would put them on a well done restore? Or better yet, does anyone have any leads on where I can get ones that are in great shape? Thanks in advance.

I think so, maybe not perfect, but certainly close enough to not be noticeable.

Thank you for the reply. I actually just found a new one that is in stock! I normally check monthly with several different companies but today I checked with a company I had not contacted before and they claim they have it in stock!

It's good you found a new one because the used one would require an expert to restore. and cost far more than the new one.

That filler panel was use throughout production on the XLT and then the Lariat. It was the only exterior trim that couldn't be ordered as a standalone option I believe.

If that place does not have them in stock, I have a couple of used, but reusable. Shipping...it will be long when boxed but maybe under the USPS requirements. If interested PM me.
