over the air updates

I bought my 2024 F-250 on 12/28/24. It's not clear to me that I'm receiving over the air updates. I have automatic updates set in the truck. I've got it parked so it's getting my wifi. When I go to https://www.ford.com/support/sync-maps-updates/ it shows a red triangle and "vehicle has automatic SYNC updates" and "your SYNC will automatically update via Ford Power-Up software updates. No action required." Yet I've never seen any indication on the ford.com, on my phone app, or in the truck, that I've ever received and update. I called the over the air team at 800-392-3673, and the person I spoke to insisted the truck received an update on 1/14/24.

Am I doing something wrong? How do I see updates?

Edit: Never mind. I called the number for Ford Pass and the truck was not connected right. The person I talked to walked me through disconnecting and reconnecting.

Can you elaborate a bit more on this? What wasn't connected right? Did you just redo the WiFi setup?

I'm not sure I entirely understood, but my wife has signed up for Ford Pass before me on her phone, but then failed to click on some text message from Ford finalizing things. The Ford Pass rep helped me delete her email and reset things.

The updates are very sporadic. And from what I’ve read on this forum some people receive them well before others. Not sure of the reason for that.
Every now and then I’ll have a push notice on FordPass that an update occurred. I have mine set for 1 AM every night to update.
Check Vehicle/Settings/Software Updates in FordPass. Release Notes will give the details of the most recent update. My last was 11/4/24. Update 10.1.0. SYNC 24.2.1.6

Over the air updates for me have been few and far between, even when there are some (on this forum) saying the are getting them regularly.
I purchased my truck in April and got my one and only update in December.

I was seeing, on various posts, about owners of Super Duties getting ota updates and I wasn't. I talked with Ford Customer Care about this. They checked mynsettings and said everything was correct. They also said Ford rolls out ota updates in segments and by region. Meaning some will get updates well before others.
I don't rely on my Ford app for ota update notifications. For some reason it has never been reliable for me. I find it better to call Customer Care to check on updates when I see others talking about receiving updates.

My truck spent 6 weeks at my local dealer recently with what turned out to be a defective Gateway module that got replaced. This defective module would not allow any software updates to the truck or allow the TCU modem to receive updates OTA or let the truck communicate back to Ford and the App. It took Ford Engineering 5.5 weeks to authorize a replacement part after numerous dealer attempts to tell Ford this was the problem. Total inefficiency by Ford Engineering to fix the problem. Once the Gateway was installed it was fixed in one business day ..

My friend has spent days on the phone with Ford support trying to get updates working on his 2025.. Yesterday they finally booked him a service appointment at the local dealer in a few weeks. I rarely get updates. I suspect there are lots of bad gateway modules but most don't know it.
