2000 Ranger transfer case

2000 Ranger transfer case
I have a 2000 Ranger 4x4 3.0L. My 4x4 went out on me a few weeks ago, i have been reading about the PVH's and hoped it wasent them when i brought it in today. I just found out it is the motor on the transfer case that engages the 4x4 that is bad. Does anybody know how much that should cost and if it is or isnt hard to do for someone that can handle modest repairs???

A lot of times these shift motors just need to be cleaned up. He is some tech help.
