Possible 5r110w automatic transmission issues(again)
So basically, I was driving my 05 f350 v10 with 132,000 miles on it for about 15 minutes. When I accelerated a bit harder than I usually do to get up to a highway speed, it felt like it shuddered from 2nd to 3rd. (I later tested this again, and it shifted fine) also in lower gears, if I consistently push a bit on the gas and let up after a second when trying to maintain a slower speed, it feels like it pulls a little. I'm probably over worried but it doesn't hurt to ask🤷♂️. (BTW the fluid was changed with valvoline max life atf about 2,000 miles ago, and when I checked it, it's at the perfect level and it's bright pink, no burnt fluid and no metal shavings on the dipstick.) Also, I'm planning on towing a 23 foot travel trailer in about a month, can the transmission take it fine right now?
I don't own one, so I just went to auto zone and borrowed theirs. Just plugged it into the obd2 port under the dash, selected "read codes" and it said: "no codes found"
That's what an auto parts store reader will ALWAYS read on these trucks. You could have a dozen codes stored and it will tell you there are none.
Get Forscan at www.forscan.org. To read codes you do not need to purchase a license. Their page also shows how to select and OBDII adapter. I bought mine from Amazon for about $30.
Oh ok thanks for the info. It seems to be ok right now. Though, the shifts are a little softer then it usually is, but it feels like it's still shifting at the correct time, and it doesn't feel like it's slipping. I tested some harder acceleration on the highway, and the speed increased with the rpms and it shifted smoothly and firmly. Just worried about those soft shifts at low speed/low throttle sometimes.
