Yesterday it was 20⁰F and the truck ran fine. Today is 6⁰F and even letting it sit for an hour idling it will not build any boost. It was plugged in all night, started and moves at low speed fine. It was at a quarter tank so I limped into town and added a half jug (full jug treats 110gal) DieselPower before filling up. Got the engine temp to 199⁰ going into town (198⁰/208⁰ thermostats), idled down to 194⁰ while fueling. No change in driveability, air filter is clean and not iced up.
Truck already had winter blend fuel in it, from the same tank our tractors use. Both tractors ran fine all day.
Did throw the P2262/63 codes on the way back. Truck is tuned and fully deleted. This is my first winter with a 6.4, finally updated from the 7.3 and maybe regretting it.
Pop the hood and locate the "dog bone" on the turbo. Pull it forward and see if if it moves freely.
If it does, have someone key on the ignition. The "Dog Bone" should do a self test and actuate 1 time. If it doesn't move on it's own, chances are you have a failed turbo actuator.
Haven't had anyone to hit the key yet. It was 23⁰ and the truck ran almost normal (15psi) regular driving. Coming home just now the temp is 14⁰ and floored I could get 5psi. Going into town tomorrow and I'll have my buddy help me. I did unplug it and try to drive, almost identical symptoms except the exhaust was louder. Plugged in at idle the arm moves all the way forward. I did check the fuel filters today and zero gelling.
