Seems like they would've designed some kind of bolted-on crossmember type of system, to allow access to the lower engine without have to lift the entire body. Support the engine and transmission, unbolt crossmember(s), do the work, then reassemble. Unless the structural integrity would be compromised?
Just seems like two engineering teams had no cross-communication while designing the truck, crazy...
