25 ST gremlins
List of problems
1, drivers seat randomly resets to driver position #1. (While car is running or not). Replaced both door modules in an attempt to fix. No luck.
2, Stereo always turns on when starting the car.
3, a/c turns on when turning on the fan speed regardless of temp setting.
4, Seat heaters are now turning on during the next start cycle even though manually turned off before.
Anyway, has anyone els had similar issuies?
PS personal bitch. What is the point of being able to toggle off the DTRL in the system, when the factory default is lights on during every start cycle??!!!!
Oh, and I reeeeally love when you open a door while the car is moving the trans slams into park!! Wonder if Ford will warranty a broken trans for that?
This is our third Explorer. So far, hating it!
Sound system always comes on when you start up the vehicle, regardless if you turned it off.
I just picked up a new '25 ST for the wife's daily. I gotta say, we're happy as Hell with it since getting it home.
Took 2) weeks for them to get it properly prepped (long story) but the new addition to the fleet has been great so far.
This is our 4th Explorer since 1993, and by some divine intervention, we seem to have dodged all the bullets that we hear about on these different renditions.
Hell, I was all set to throw a water pump on the ol' 3.5...never had to. Musta been all the doom/gloom I read on the darn internet.
Sure do hope, that you have gotten yours sorted out, Turnkey. Unless ours starts acting up, this could be the last new grocery-getter for us.

I'm still a bit miffed that Ford abandoned the Limited trim level. If I were to trade for a Platty today, I'd lose equipment that's no longer available unless you get the ST. With that said, when does the ST become so common that it's no longer desired?
The 2.3L scoots this car along quite nicely, I can only imagine how much fun it is with the 3.0. We might make a move in 2026. We only have 62K on ours and it's been very reliable and paid for. They don't seem to hold their value very well once they reach 5 years old or more so I'm considering running this one to 100K then dump it.
But when we do, it will be for an ST. For the 2025 model year, Ford sold 160,xxx Explorers which places them in the top 20 best selling vehicles for 2025.
The bride was coming out of an anemic 2014 3.5l N/A XLT, and...this is her first brand new car, ever. On the lot with probably 40) STLine and Active Plain Jane Explorers, this ST absolutely stood out. In my worthless humble opinion, far from common and very desired by this clan.
Heck yeah, it is. The peppy little 3.0 makes any jaunt fun. Wicked smooth ride too.
Not even at gripe level, (perhaps only a 1/2 point deduction) is a hint of wind noise on both P&D front windows.

Happy to do our part! How'd F150's do on the list...brought one of them home this year too.

I'm glad you love your new Ex! My 2020 still looks and feels new, it's been that solid. I'm having a hard time with the idea of getting another car payment.
