Camper repair ??

I just purchased a camper project. It was started back in 2022 and never finished. Unfortunately he never got around to installing the corner and edge aluminum trim. Issue number one, the roof has torn back about half way. The darker color is weathered plywood with no signs of adhesive. The lighter color has sticky adhesive. The remaining roofing is stuck on pretty well. Obviously I need to re roof it. What do I do about the sticky adhesive? Try and remove it somehow or just add more and carry on? What material for the new roof? Next is the exterior fiberglass panels. Where ever there was an unsecured edge it has pealed away. Some places are small but others are substantial, like the whole side basically if I started pulling on it. The substrate is plywood. What would be the best way to tackle this? What product? The dark edges are residue from some kind of tape. The door and windows are temporarily installed. I'm good at interior stuff like carpentry, electrical, plumbing but no idea on this outside stuff.

I'd suggest adding adhesive to everything that needs to be re-glued. For the edges of panels peeling back, the hard part is getting adhesive all the way to the far end of the unglued section. Best to take the time and trouble to do that now so you won't have unglued pockets of air causing issues later.

I've seen boat guys thin out a resin and use something with a long skinny nozzle to get it all the way into places like this. Usually this is on a transom or maybe on the top of a hull where it meets a panel and water got in. They seem to usually (but not always) have good results.

Well the siding basically fell off when I removed the windows lol I ended up using 3M 90 spray adhesive and rolled the siding back on. Looks ok for now. I also moved a window from the side to the rear and added baggage doors for battery and propane. I need to add the aluminum trim around the edges. Lots to do on the inside.

Unfortunately, I don't think that was the right/best adhesive to use. When I had to install new fiberglass on the entire front wall of my camper (trailer) I use 3M Neoprene High Performance Contact Adhesive 1357. This was the best product available. When I purchased it from Amazon they asked me if I was a commercial installer or something like that. Apparently, you can't be a simple DIY guy like me to buy this stuff. I might have implied that I was qualified to buy it. It worked very well.

Amazon Amazon

For smaller sections that had become delaminated I use the West Marine two part epoxy system. That did a good job of re-adhering the existing fiberglass to both old and new substrate.

When you go about installing the corner molding, be sure it has enough length on both edges. One reason that the fiberglass on my trailer delaminated is that the molding wasn't wide enough to cover the fiberglass. It was maybe 3/4" molding and needed to be 1.25" molding. Poor quality from the factory.
