Just thought I would pass along my experience with Granger trying to purchase a new F250 Diesel. I had a phone call into them yesterday about an Internet price on a 2024 F250 Lariat. Price was $79,590 online. Let them know we would close the deal today quickly. When I called back today to close the deal the sales rep said the price has gone up to $80,590 and could not explain why. I sent her the screenshot of the price from Online the previous night and she said sorry. That is the new price.
When I voiced my concern over a Bait and Switch tactic to the Sales Manager, he said basically to pound sand and that was the price.
So I hope this comes back to bite them from consumers as this type of tactic is really dishonest and on top of that they were rude to me for no reason. So lesson learned is get it in writing before you go to bed or the wind will change direction, and the price might follow the wind. Not to worry, I purchased a truck from an almost local Dealer in North Carolina that had one close in options and they were about as nice as could be and came really close to the Granger price.
I will rate them on the Internet when I get time but wanted to let everyone know what happened so hopefully it won't happen to you. Really disappointed in the Sales Manager's response and attitude. When you treat customers this way, it will eventually catch up to the business. Maybe they are so big they don't care and that is what it appeared this morning. Spend your money somewhere else like I did and move on.
I know you're frustrated. But, I wouldn't consider that a bait and switch. If you didn't sign a contract and/or put down a deposit at the previous price, the dealer is not required to honor that price if the price changes. If the price had gone down instead of up, would you still be upset you weren't paying $79,590?

They did the same to me except on my trade. Quoted me a trade in price the first day and then changed their mind and offered 6k less 3 hours later with no justification. Needless to say I went somewhere else to get my 24 Platinum and received a better deal on the new truck and the trade. This was in September, the truck I was going to buy is still sitting on their lot. Granger Ford is getting too big for their bridges.
Did you originally talk about financing through them? They offer $1000 off if you finance with them. It states clearly Granger Finance Bonus Cash - $1,000 *** Requires Financing
Also states Prices are subject to change without notice.
Not trying to call you out, but sometimes things change on both ends.
2 years ago when I traded with them, they gave me the trade quote 30 days in advance and honored it at trade in. I was extremely upfront with the info on my trade, and they didn't question it on the day I picked up the new one. I have heard nothing but positive with them on deals.
The service dept is different story, but the sales is top notch.
They would not even take my trade. It was a 2020 F150 CCSB with 3.5 EB, had hail damage and I had an $8k check in hand from insurance to offset. Told me to do what I could to sell my truck in TX because they were not taking it in trade. So I finally did sell it to Baytown Ford in Houston, and the sales price plus the check netted me out at the high end of Kelly Blue Book.
I prolly would not buy another vehicle from Granger. The drive, hassle, and expenses of flying to Iowa and the drive back to TX were not worth it to me. I have the truck, so far no issues, all good.
Maybe try Sheehy Ford in the Virgina area. We just bought our '24 350 Lariat from Sheehy Springfield (they have I think 5 locations). Did the deal over the phone, the deal was good enough to make the drive from New York worthwhile. They couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Spoke to the sales manager on the phone and on site dealt with Tina in Finance and Maxx in sales. Both were terrific. No nonsense with pricing at all.
Now just trying to agree on a name for a star white truck, lol
OP,
Why didn't you offer a deposit when you first noticed the price and decided to buy the truck? You have to admit, any person who says they want to buy and then says they will be calling back tomorrow is suspect. A deposit on a CC would confirm you were serious and lock in the price at the same time.

You are posting this as a negative, when in fact, it is a positive! They were honest with you that they didn't want your truck, and encouraged you to sell it privately, which you did. Seems like they did you a favor! My flight to Iowa cost me about $300, and they picked me up at the airport.
The Granger experience was the best truck buying experience I ever had, hands down! Was in and out in less than an hour, and that included a 10 minute test drive! They didn't try to hassle me with financing or warranties, etc.
The entire deal was done over internet and phone, so when I arrived, the truck was sitting out front, shiny and new, and we just had a few papers to sign. Chip did a great job of showing me some user settings, etc, that I wasn't shown on my 2023 by my local dealer.
And, with the price 4% below inoice, it was better than X-Plan.
I'll buy from Chip, Shelby, and Granger again!! You bet!!
The OP's experience are not the same as the majority of the guys on here who have bought trucks from Granger, including mine!!

Ha! Small world! I live in Northern Virginia. Bought my 2015 CCSB 6.7 from Sheehy in Gaithersburg, MD. That's when they were offering $12k off of MSRP on leftover trucks. But they weren't even close on my 2024 King Ranch. A couple months ago they did have a bunch of Lariats on the lot in Springfield that they were offering nice prices on. Most of them had the black appearance package, like on your white one. That looks really good! I really wanted Red , and they didn't have one. In the end, Granger was definitely the way to go for ordering a truck!
