Boost leak

Hello all. First time post here but wanted to share my solution for looking for a boost leak. It consists of :
3" X 1" reducing bushing
3" straight coupling
1" X 3/8" reducing bushing
3/8" X 1/4" reducing bushing
1/4" close nipple
1/4" Tee
1/4" pressure gauge
1/4" air fitting
soapy water.
Air compressor

I used what i had to make this test rig. I disconnected air filter inlet line to turbo, leaving last small piece connected. I plugged the hole for the green sensing line, used factory clamp, sealing the connection. I set air compressor to 20# and hooked up air line. Then just sprayed the dish soap/water onto boots. I found the leak, tightened clamp and all is well.

You've got a lot going on there and I can't tell from your picture angles if you pressurized the CCV (which you don't want to do) or if you went straight to turbo, (the way you want to do it)

I don't have pics but I made a similar rig with a PCV cleanout and a cap. Drilled the cap for an air male quick connect fitting. I use a regulator to control the air so I know the pressure as the regulator has a gauge. I can also use the adapter with my smoke machine, also made from PVC from Youtube video, and not need soapy water

Got a picture of this and maybe a link to the YouTube.

I like the idea of a smoke test over soapy water and searching for bubbles.

Here's the smoke tester I have and any PVC plug that fits in the turbo boot can be used to pressure the system.

a can of ether will find a leak real quick...that's what the real men use

I made a contraption years ago similar in nature but as someone else posted; I have a regulator instead of direct line.

I do like that smoke machine option, will have to look into it.

That was the video I ended up watching when I went on YouTube and searched.

I know this is going to come in handy.

He removed the plastic inlet duct that has the crankcase ventilation hose nipple and replaced it with his pressurizer device, you can see the bracket the inlet duct normally bolts to behind his device. He connected his device to the turbo inlet hose, so he didn't pressurize the crankcase but also didn't quite go straight to the turbo.

Knowing my luck if I did that I would blow the inlet hose off the turbo inlet as normally that is under a slight vacuum rather than being pressurized.
