I have been getting them for a while.

I noticed a lot of folks on this site used Photobucket, before I was here. I used them on other sites.

I refuse to be blackmailed by those low ethics folks at Photobucket.

They got their customers to input photos for free, and then shake you down for the ability to keep the photos. If they had only charged everyone a couple dollars per month, most folks would have agreed. Unfortunately, they got greedy. I hope they go out of business.

Yep, same here. I ignored that for awhile
Recently (last month) I went ahead and coughed up for their monthly subscription. Then I spent a couple of hours downloading all of my pics. As soon as I was done downloading all of the pics I closed my account and canceled the subscription.
What a pain! but I got my pics back and I'm not paying their "ransom"

Bobby

I did the same thing this past month. it's not a scam in the sense that they will deactivate your account, so if you have pics you want, get them out and then dump it like bobby and I did.

Yes, their free service is no longer. Luckily I downloaded my stuff a couple years back so I just cancelled my account.

About once a year I get the threatening email and ignore it. Any photos I had uploaded to their site were from my pc so I still have them. Nothing there I need to retrieve.....

I keep waiting on them to follow thru on their threat ...
