I believe there are two types of Seafoam... I've used the origional seafoam in my fuel and crankcase... then there's a seperate Seafoam for the tranny. It's at every NAPA around here.
wrangler76 is right...there is now a seafoam made just for transmissions. You should be able to find it at any auto parts stores, or any mechanic shops in your area. I have never used the stuff for the tranny but I have had good results with the regular seafoam in my crank case and fuel system.
Try NAPA. I believe the engine treatment works for removing carbon. Most tranny treatments work by swelling the seals however and this tends to work initially but the swelling continues. If you were to flush the fluid after the treatment you would then stop the process. Of course this complicates things.
Most tranny additives like Lucas Oils make the seal swell, seafoam cleans out the crap that builds up in the small passages of your automatic transmission.
Yes, it works wonders, and I resent that anyone would consider it a snake oil.
