Wont start
i started it this morning, she was a bit cranky, but its really cold here. Warmed up just fine. Drove to a lunch place. Came out an hour later and all it did was crank, no sign of life. I went and got a can of start fluid, gave it a heavy shot, still cranked and cranked, not even a sputter. Leads me, with my limited knowledge, to believe theres no spark. Ive read the ignition modules are known to just go. Ive ordered a new one as well as a new coil. Am i on the scent or not? Any basic troubleshooting advice? I have a meter and know how to use it. Any advice appreciated.
Coil
Tons of online info on how to do that:

Sophisticated testing is involved with a no spark condition on a Duraspark ignition system
How the Ford dealer would diagnose it is with the Rotunds Breakerless Ignition Tester
I have one for the duraspark system I run on my Boss 302
Damn straight, those modules burn up, with absolutely no warning
The stators in the distributor just up and quit too
The testing is difficult without the special Ford tester box
You can get one of these testers cheap these days on Ebay (cheaper than the new coil you bought most likely)
