I have a 2002 Ford Escape, and I have been very happy with it so far. It only has 27,000 miles on it, so I guess my feelings could still change.
However the other day I was driving on the highway, and my Escape slipped out of gear. The RPM's were going up, but there was no increase in speed. Also my OD engine light was flashing, and i had some hesitation at the stop sign at bottom of the exit ramp like it could not find a gear. I immediately pulled off the road, and when I put the car in park the light stopped flashing. The rest of my trip the car was driving completely normal.
I took it to the Ford Dealership, and they told me that they hooked it up to the machine and everything was ok. They also told me that the machine showed no record of the engine light coming on.
Has anybody else had a problem like this?
