2022 powerboost issue (maybe)
i bought a used PB. Let me say i want to absolutely LOVE this truck and I think i do, however im getting a weird noise.
it occurs in higher gears (7+ with more frequent in 10th) going into inclines. I have heard it between 45-70mph but when the truck is staying in gear (so low revs low load) if I give it a lot of throttle it will downshift and not make this noise. It sounds metallic? Resonating-ish, slight vibration in the foot pedal. If I put the radio on for a moderate level I can’t hear it but I can still feel a slight buzz in my foot.
the buzz sounds like a water bottle being blown over or a phone vibrating on a table. I know there is hybrid assist and electric motor stuff but what bogs me is some PB users are saying dude we have never heard that and some are saying yeah my brand new one at 40 miles does that
I don’t get it. I almost feel like it’s a heat shield or exhaust noise but that may not explain the newer PB. Some folks say it didn’t start until 60,000 miles. It’s a weird thing. My truck has 29,000 miles and I got it used so I don’t have the historical context to say it always did it. It won’t let me upload a video from my phone for some reason and I hate referring others to other links but I found one Reddit dude who captured the exact noise I’m getting and under the same conditions. I’ll link his video here. Any prior experiences or whatever will help. I brought it to a dealership where it was previously serviced and they couldn’t recreate it. They did say if this sounds like a transmission issue our guy is backlogged until 2025. So who knows .
