Not sure what to do about the round plug shown in the middle. No replacement kits have it included.
Not sure what to do about the round plug shown in the middle. Looking to update with tinned copper lines and lugs.

That's a separate wire to send the crank signal to the starter solenoid. It may be a dealer item or possibly Rock Auto. If there's nothing wrong with it, remove and reuse it.

The starter lug disintegrated into several pieces and the insulation on that line has shrunk overtime leaving about 2 inches of exposed copper. Already repaired the starter solenoid terminal as well. Thinking since I already have the tools, access to marine wire and with plans to run the truck long term it’s time to update. Unfortunately the part in the pic is ~464 alone from the dealer doesn’t seem worth buying in this case.
(pic above is for reference obviously would have chopped it open like a bbq sandwich if it was infront of me lol)

I just recrimped new barrel lugs on and used the existing wiring. I used those military connectors to tie the battery cables to the batteries.

So far so good, and didnt cost 400 bones. You can use a cheap hydraulic crimping tool (Amazon).

I used vinegar and baking soda to clean the wire.

There is a guide on here about it that i followed.

Worked good, and even with the crimper and lugs, it was well under 200 bucks. That was about 2 years ago now.
