Looking at this gauge set below. I like the dual analog with digital display...and the fact they match the factory dash black background with green numbers and red needle. Is anyone using these...and if so for how long? I will call them tomorrow to see what the warranty period is. In my research on this site, I see reference to Isspro and Autometer brand gauges, but those are $$$ from what I see. I want the EGT and fuel pressure units for sure, but contemplating the boost and transmission temperature units as well. The reasoning is I have the Atoto head stereo head unit which I can hook up to the OBII port and monitor some things through Forscan. I am leaning towards the overhead pod between the center rear view mirror and cabin head liner versus the A pilar or under dash pod units, which I'd like some feed back on. https://www.maxtow.com/green-maxtow-...-power-stroke/
I ran my gauges in a pod over the mirror and I don't know how it affected it but my mirror fell off more frequently. That problem stopped after moving the gauges to a cheap universal dash pod. It was velcroed to the glass and not touching the mirror so
The ones you are looking at appear identical to Glow Shift, which I guess means they can't be any worse than Isspro. Other than that, I can't say if it's a good deal because I've not heard of them.
I drank the isspro Kool-Aid and got the leaking fuel pressure sender. To this day, the warranty request remains unanswered, while the cheap 5 for $20 senders from eBay—well, I still have 4 spares 10 years later.
Edited to add:
I just looked and Maxtow is on the Glowshift site so that is what they are.

Reason: new info
My buddy uses the maxtow guages and loves them. There are things i do not like about them though and maybe that's changed, but his readings start high/ don't read low enough...if that make sense. Looking at the site they claim to read down to zero besides tranny temp, so IDK. I just know I've said something to him, like I let my truck idle until EGT's drop to 350-400*before shutting down, he said his doesn't read that low. Something along those lines
Either way, He has had them for 5-6 years now with no issues. I really like the digital/ analog of them because gauges are hard to read at times while driving. I almost prefer a digital readout. I also like gauges that have peak recall and warning.
I will be installing the Atoto stereo head unit and plan to run Forscan on the screen hooked up through the OBII port, so I could theoretically see boost and transmission temperature. So seems like a must for the fuel pressure and EGT gauges. The boost in Forscan is through the MAP sensor, so thinking the gauge might be more accurate...plus with my mods I might not want to go through the MAP sensor given I'll be over the lower 20's pressure where the PCM starts cutting fuel. So I'm thinking there's my 3 gauges given the transmission temperature is probably fairly accurate through Forscan, but might be nice to not have pull it up and listen to some tunes. Is this logical thinking on the gauge selections?
I've thought about installing a dash cluster out of an 02+ which has the trans temp, but not sure that's possible.
Those of you which have the lower dash pods...are they distracting to read there at a lower elevation? I would also like to hear from some more who have installed the overhead pod above the center rear view mirror.
Since I live in Houston I am not wanting something that sticks out like the A-pilar pod, dash mount, etc. given there are so many thieves around...
FWIW the transmission temp gauge in 02 models is not accurate. If it shows hot you're almost cooked. The sensor in the transmission is fine it's just how the gauge is calibrated.
You can see accurate trans temps via Forscan or another gauge reading the OEM sensor.
As far as the pids, the boost is accurate up to the mid 20s. After that the sensor runs outta range. So that depends on how much boost you plan on running. Trans temp is accurate.
egt, fuel press are ones I would not go without esp if you're running tunes.
Those gauges you posted do look pretty good as far as matching up the factory color scheme.
I have the F650 lower dash with my gauges installed there. I once tried the pod above the mirror but not my cup of tea...same goes for the pillar pods. The mirror pods are cheap, warped and have a horrible fit. can also be seen from the outside...no thanks.
Sorry for the bad pic. This pic was actually for when I finally got my Excursion defrost switch to work my heated mirrors.
I have the egt and trans temp on my OBS for years now and they work, trans temp is on point with my scanner. The only thing that I don't like was mentioned in post #5 is that the egt reading starts at 400° but other than that I like the digital read out easy to read at a glance no need to keep the eye in the needle.

So having the gauges mounted there down low isn't an issue in monitoring them and/or a distraction...maybe it's just in my mind. Was the F650 lower dash fairly easy to install...and how did you mount the gauges in there as it looks like they are angled for ease of viewing...
I love my gauges down there but some may not. They may like them in their face. I have OCD about obstructions in my view and things on/ above my dash.
I also have one benefit that most do not...My gauges flash red if they go above my set warning settings. I also have peak recall and can datalog my gauges (although I've never used datalogging)
I know my truck very well, so I don't need to continually monitor anything anymore. If I'm doing testing or something, sure. I can still easily read my gauges driving down the road without any danger to myself or others, I randomly look at them, otherwise I might take a look at a light or something.
I would say quick glances down would be no different than looking at your pillar, above your rearview or at your instrument cluster.
As far as the install...it's very easy. They do have to be color match painted. I can't recall the name of the special paint that has the Ford colors though. The hardest part for me was figuring out exactly where i wanted ea gauge, marking them and cutting out the holes. Also of note, I believe my 650 panel was the one that has holes for air brakes. gauge placement has to cover those precut holes. It was not a simple mount gauges and your done. I had to do some creative engineering to get the gauges flush as the overhang/shelf kept them from flush. So I had to carefully sand spots with a dremel. It was just a tiny bit but also some added work
I do not recall but I think I either purchased a kit or they came with the gauges to shim them at an angle. It does help the viewing angle a good deal. Lastly, the F650 panel used to be more affordable, not sure what they go for now. It is a direct swap for the panel itself though.
If you wanted to, you could figure out a way to temporarily mount a gauge in the little pocket cubby to get an idea of what it would be like. I actually used to have a 99 that I mounted my main gauges in the cubby
I've looked diligently for the F650 lower dash and can't really find any. I did find a re-pop on Ebay, but it's the automatic version and I like the manual version better. Does anyone know where one might be able to find this?
