Have heat issue? 2006 F250 6.0
Problem is no heat unless under load? Idle there is nothing but cold air coming from system?
What ive done?
^Changed out T-stat.
^Changed out heater control valve.
^Soaked and flushed heater core and reversed flush as well. (Water flow both directions no problem)
^Filled with coolant and ran truck for 45 min with defrost on high. Heat was working until home at idle. Turned off truck and snatched new degas cap off fast and herd air come out of system.
^ Inlet hose to core is hot, but return to degas is not?
^Coolant is between 178-190 after warmed. per tuner.
^I'm with in 6-7* on my gauges.
With that said, I'm wondering if there is more air trapped in the Heater core?
Can water flow through the heater core when flushing and bypass the clog showing as unclogged with nice flow?
Sounds like the valve that works off vacuum at the firewall either has no vacuum to open, (disconnected tube, or control issue), or is faulty. I think you can manually actuate this to ensure it’s not stuck.
Like chuck said make sure the heater valve is opening. I believe it defaults to open, you have to wire it shut so likely not the issue unless it was assembled backwards.
Otherwise check the blend door actuator. Take out the glovebox and it's right there. You should be able to see it move back and forth when you adjust the temp dial.
