Hello everyone I have a 1995 f150 xlt with a 351w in it and it keeps shutting off randomly sometimes when I’m going 70 on the highway or even stopped at a red light. It’s very random though, when it dies on the highway it just jumps starts itself again with the speed it’s already going. But there are time when it dies while I’m stopped and I will try to start it will crank but not start, then 5-10 min later it will start again. I changed out the icm but it didn’t seem to fix it as it still dying sometimes any help would be appreciated thanks
It dose sound like what a bad ICM dose when going bad. Is it in the dist. or on the inner fender?
They need to stay cool and where they are mounted it acts as a heat sink and you to use the thermal grease to help the heat move to the sink.
Now with todays parts you could have gotten a bad one? ICM and fender mounted starter solenoids you do not want to buy the cheapest, you get what you pay for.
I would think if it was a fuel issue it would not just shut off, my 02 Dodge did not shut off when the fuel pump stopped working, it was like it run out of gas.
Dose the CEL work? It should come on as soon as the key is turned to on for a few seconds to test the light.
I would check for any codes and go from there.

Hello Dave I got the codes pulled from an obd1 reader and I narrowed it down to a “211, 212” code or a “pip circuit fault” and “spout circuit grounded” also I’ve recently replaced the distributor before this and the icm I bought wasn’t a cheap one it was about $50

DY1077 is the correct Motorcraft version ICM for your model year truck. I do agree the PIP is most likely causing your stalling issue given you also have Code 211. You may have replaced the distributor before, but this is another case of new does not necessarily mean good.
