Coming to the end of a very long project. Wanted to introduce myself and my project (Clair) as well as ask some questions. Anyway, It's a 1941 Ford COE that I've owned since 2011. It was originally the 134" wb but I shortened it to 101" wb. It will also run an original 50’s Ford flatbed that was shortened from 12’ to 9’. From the frame up its all stock. Stock flathead V8, stock 4 spd transmission, stock leaf spring setup. I narrowed a D60 7.5" for the front and an Eaton H072 for the rear. Gearsets are 4:10. The wheels and tires that I’m running are Vision 19.5 and TOYO M608 commercial drive tires. The divorced NP205 is from a 1977 Ford I believe. It has WARN premium hubs but I'm not crazy on how they look(the truck doesn’t have any chrome). Any other options for a more retro looking hub? I'm also looking for a simple way to shift the transfer case. I really don't want to convert to twin stick. Honestly I'll need to get out and lock the hubs anyway so I can shift it into 4wd at the same time. Doesn't need to be a cab mounted 4wd shifter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris in Idaho

Beautiful job on that truck! Love the 4wd and the period way you have accomplished it. The mounting of the transfer case is supurb, thanks for not slamming it down on 22s with low, low profile tires. Full side view pics please!

Thanks for the kind words. It’s been a long project, consequently I’ve had a lot of time to plan and figure out what my end game needed to be. The truck was too original to make a street machine. Ultimately I haven’t had a truck that sits this tall in a long time and there’s some appeal to that for me. These days I appreciate things that are more factory than not.
i don’t have a side view picture with the truck in it’s current color but hopefully this will suffice.

Nice looking truck cant wait to see it done and out side.
As for the transfer case have you looked into long action solenoids that push / pull?
I dont know if you could find any with the right throw and power to make it happen or not?
I say this as I looked into them years ago for my Advance Adapter Range Splitter over drive unit.
Because of where the unit is mounted and the lack of space a solenoid was out of the question for me.
In the early years the unit had electric shifting and looked to us the same motor assy. as a 2sp truck rear axle but they had problems of motors burning out?
I dont know if that would be the case with todays motors but again no room for it in my 81 F100.
If you cant find electric ones maybe air like used on air shifted big rigs? Then you would need a compressor and tank I guess?
Good luck

oh I went with twin sticks should see the looks when they dont see a front axle under my 4x2 truck
It is fun twin sticking

Thanks for the feedback. That’s a great idea. I have plenty of room to have a setup like that. I’ll look into it.
Really cool truck. When I built my 48 COE, I did the twin stick conversion and used 2 cables from a driveline shop, that are like a PTO cable, only better quality and smoother action. Can you hang a bracket down from the bed and attach a cable with a clevis pin to the bar between your shift rails. Mount the other end, anywhere you want with a tab and put some sort of **** on it. PTO cables or something similar are like 10' long. I don't have a picture of the mount, but I do of the other end. It's from during the build process.

Your cabover is amazing. Love the stance and everything about it. Very cool build. Appreciate the twin shifter idea. I’ll see what I can come up with. The chain binder shift levers look perfect.
