Loose window crank hack - works
Windows worked ok but there was so much play in the handle I had arcs in the paint of my doors. So I used a bean can tin, cut a 1/2" wide swath and found that one full wrap on the crank was the right thickness to slip between the crank and the housing which took all the play out of the spindle. I rebuilt the cranks with new plastic and they hold the shim in place. No play any more and it clears the entire door. Works!!! and saved me having to replace the window mechanisms and $200...
