Your pretty much going have to pull the axle to measure the nut, a truck parts supplier should have a sheet metal socket you’ll need, it’ll be 3/4” drive so you’ll need an adapter if you don’t have 3/4” drive tools
You’ll likely find chisel marks on the outer nut were that method has been used in the past, I’ve done it in the past when I didn’t have the correct socket and it was a 2 hour round trip to the truck parts store to get a socket plus another trip for the parts
