Alternator Light Flashing Erratically

Hey Fellas, I'm not really having a problem yet, but I feel one coming on. The problem is my charging system idiot light keeps flashing off and on. There's no rythem, just pops on for awhile then maybe I'll hit a pothole and it'll go off for a while. It's been doing this about two weeks now, but it shows to be charging on the gauge. It's on a 1996 F250 diesel 4x4. I've checked both batteries, cleaned the terminals, checked the alternator, recleaned all four battery posts and terminals, tightened the clamps down real good. It hasn't left me anywhere yet but I'm trying to find it before it does. Seems to me as if I've got a loose wire because it comes and goes with hitting potholes or bumps in the road. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

check your engine ground and push the alternator plugs in really well. after that, i'm lost. you could try the computer codes. you might find one there.
