4x4 swapping 1994

Hello all!
I wanted to post to get some more info on a project i’m about to do.

i have recently purchased a 1994 SCSB 2wd, 302 auto.

i stumbled upon a perfect donor truck on marketplace, a 1989 SCSB 4x4, i6 auto, which I have purchased.

the donor truck is a complete chassis.

i wanted to ask, is this a direct swap? Do I need to purchase anything? Anything need modified?

I will be swapping the rear ends as well, because the donor truck is 3:55 and my 2wd is 3:08.

thank you all in advance.

edit: by scsb I mean single cab short bed, that’s my bad.

I believe the frames are different. It can be done, bit I don't believe it's the same as just bolting on and go.

The rear axle should physically bolt up without issue, but may have an issue with the speedo sensor.

Honestly it might be easier to body swap the 94 onto the 89 chassis.

unfortunately the 89 chassis isn’t in very good shape.

any idea where the chassis’ are different? I don’t mind a little modding.

Single cab short bed is also impressive. Are you sure it's not a single cab long bed? I'm not asking to be the guy who tells ya it doesn't exist, I want to see photos if thats the configuration because it's cool.

yes the rear axle will bolt rite in.
the front will too but you will have to use ALL the front end parts on the 4X4 truck on your RWD truck.
probably will have to use the 4X4 trans mount too.
does the 4X4 frame have the trans and transfer case in it too? you will need that, you can not bolt the transfer case to a RWD trans without completely disassembling it to swap a 4X4 mainshaft output shaft in it and swapping a 4X4 tailshaft onto it.

No such thing as a 4x4 mainshaft. You need the output shaft and extension housing from a 4x4 trans to convert a 4x2 trans to 4x4.

thankfully, the donor truck is a 100% complete running and driving chassis, so I should be good to go!

Oh, for some reason I thought we were talking about 3/4 or 1 ton trucks. Single cab short bed 150 makes more sense.
