Black or silver wipers?

I'm finishing up the details of the repaint on my 70 Flareside. The truck is a base Custom cab and has no side or window chrome.

It has always bothered me that most replacement wiper blades are black. I know I can still order the silver ones in the Trico classic series but they are close to $50 a pair and are getting harder to find. I'm thinking of just painting the arms satin black and using the cheaper black blades since they wear out so fast, anyway.

I did a side by side comparison and just stuck them on for a look. I kind of like the way the black arm/blade combo just disappears into the black rubber and black dash, etc.

Personal preference.
I would not paint my wiper arms satin black. I like the classic look.
As for the blades being black nowadays - it is what it is.

main thing is keeping the wipers clean and in good shape.

When I first seen the picture I also thought the black disappeared before I seen what you posted.
Depending what the rest of the truck looks like, looks like you have a scoop? then the black may fit in but I also like the factory look of silver.
It is your truck use the one you like the best. Heck get a 2ns set and paint 1 black and the other silver and switch them for a change

I have the stock chrome arms with the black wipers. I'm tired of tracking down the correct wiper blades that cost too much, don't work very well. The new style blades work 1000x better than the old stuff. I do like the all black look. Maybe I'll paint mine. 🤔

I like the original sets. I dont remember where I got my wipers from the last time. I usually get a couple sets when I do though.

Although not OEM, in my opinion: Chrome, if it's a Ranger model (has the chrome insert in the window seal), and black if it's a Base model, such as seen in the original picture.

Though I personally prefer the silver, black actually does look good on your truck.

Thanks for all the input. I appreciate all of you that have a preference for oem silver. It makes lots of sense for a stock appearing truck. Since my truck has very little chrome (bumpers, door handles, mirrors, emblems only) I'm going with black/black for now. I have an extra pair of arms so I can easily switch back later if I change my mind.

Thanks again
Dave J

for a custom its about the motif of the custom, for my stocker, I have the SS arms but could only find black wipers so I hit them with aluminum header paint (all I had) Looks right...
