Looks to be a FB post that FTE won’t link to. If the wheels in the ad are old wheels from our era the only other 17” I’ve found record of, having the 8 x 6.5” pattern, is the GMC/Chevy three piece AR design that was made by Kelsey Hayes. They won’t clear a Ford rear hub. If the subject wheel is different maybe do a screen print of a picture and post that. Then we can see what the wheel is. Stu
Yup, as I guessed. They work on a front axle but not a rear. They have a very thin split locking ring that holds the solid side ring to the tire bead. That ring is easy to break I’ve read, especially after the decades, and the GM guys try to be rid of them same as our guys do the 17” widow makers. In later years K-H changed the design of the split ring to make it stronger. I can look for that diagram too if anybody cares. Stu
Stu, my dad had a set of these wheels on the back of my F-2, they seemed to fit fine. Well, with a little bit of gas wrench alteration to allow for the clearance of the hub
They won’t fit old trucks. Yours are metric 8 x 170mm which is about a 6.69” circle according to Google AI. Old trucks are 8 x 6.5”.
The newer Rams, however, kept the 8 x 6.5” pattern much later than Ford and offered a 17” SRW option. They have been discussed here a few times if anybody cares to do the search. Stu
