No crank no start
No crank no start
I was wondering why my 1983 f150 with a 4.9 inline 6 will not crank. I replaced my started solenoid after the old one had the positive side melt out of the housing. After replacing it started but the battery light was on. After a couple days it died. The battery went completely died. I jumped it and it just keep dieing. Then I replaced the alternator and it still didn't fix it the light is still on. Everything was set the same as the original starter solenoid. But it's still not charging. Can anyone help me out. Thank you.

83 has an external voltage regulator. if it fails, no charge.
there is also a fusible link off the hot side of the fender relay that is for charging. if it blows, no charge.
