Bucking while accelerating

My 97 f250 HD every now and then when I try to accelerate or just randomly will almost buck like its a transmission issue however the truck doesn’t want to accelerate either then i can drive as normal. Any thoughts?

it’s the same body style as the F-150’s

so without knowing the codes, best we can guess is it’s a MisFire

I had an old sports car that used to buck and cough from low speed acceleration. It was a lean condition. Early gasoline fuel injection system.

A 250HD could be diesel though. Tell what engine you're working with.

Check the EGR unit.... on my 1990 F150 (300 cid) I make a restrictor plate reducing the egr ports to 3/8" in diameter.... that took care of it.
