Fellow Super Duty and Excursion owners, please check the Group Purchase forum for details concerning this Group Purchase for Applied Rotor Technology Rotors and Pads!
>Has anyone taken advantage of this?
I will at the end of the week!! Thanks for arrangeing this purchase!!
I plan on getting these for my 99 PSD and will get some for me 00 PSD later. My 99 is my tow and go highway truck and my 00 is the farm, strip down model that bangs around the fields.
Yes I've taken the ART plunge and it's a beautiful thing. It does take 50-100 miles to rub off the plating on the rotors and for them to seat properly. Installation went well with little hammer persuasion required to get the rear rotors removed.
During the last couple of weeks I've changed the O.E. shocks to Edelbrock IAS units, swapped the stock rims and tires for some Eagle 16 X 8 alloys, shod with Pro-Comp 305/70-16 A/T tires (no rubbing so far), and added the Hellwig Anti-Sway bar. All of the changes have made dramatic improvements to the ride, handling, and braking.
The Hellwig bar was very helpful on Sunday when I had to make an evasive maneuver to avoid T-boning an econo-box that pulled out of a parking lot right into my lane. I simply yanked left and then right and my Ex tracked great with no wallowing as before.
Thanks to all for all the great posts which made my decisions much easier.
Dean is getting kind of pokey about shipment. Ordered (and paid) for mine before Thanksgiving. Still have not gotten them. No answer from Dean.
My advice to everyone is that if you want to switch out, don't wait until you HAVE to do something with your brakes. Looks like Dean is going to take 6-8 weeks to ship mine.
