Im trying to buy a grille and headlight bezels, and all internet sites (lmc,dc,summit racing, and others) either have a high price and a low price one. they dont tell you the difference. or they are back order on one of the bezels..Can i get some advice where to get the them? also occ carpet or oer from classic industries. thanks for any advice
Remember also, anything you buy with "Ford" on it will be the higher price. Ford gets a licensing fee to use their name, so the cost is transferred to you. You will see a lot of components out there that are cheap, but do not have "FORD" on them, like tailgates. Any "FORD" emblems you will pay for because of that.
I recently bought headlight bezels and a new grill from Summit for my 85 Bronco. They are decent quality and they had the best price when factoring in the shipping costs.
I believe they were made by LKQ Keystone(?).
The difference I saw between the offerings was the color of the paint. Some were the dark gray (usually referred to as black in listing) and some were light gray (argent?).
I also replaced the upper aluminum trim at top edge and that was a big let down. Summit didn't have this but this part, that I believe all of the vendors carry, is made by Dynacorn and the two that I held in my hand were formed in an arch that was not correctable and looked funny when installed and the straight edge of the hood was just above it. Looked like it was smiling. Bought mine at Dennis Carpenter and when 1st one arrived twisted I requested assistance from them. To their credit they quickly shipped a new one. The new replacement was worse than the original replacement so they refunded my money and I just cleaned up the original.
I had to study the descriptions and do alot of homework too as it was real confusing. You will see the pictures don't match what they should look like and the language is incorrect in more than one way
Here is copy and paste from my email receipt showing what I bought:

I cant really say as I used the best of the 2 grills and 4 head light and then painted them to look good for a driver I was building.
You did not say what ones where the higher price as I believe there are 3 different finishes for them.
Think there is chrome, black and a dark silver.
Also note the 80 to 82 I think it is dont have the FORD ovel as they have FORD across the hood. My 81 with dark silver I painted grill.
Dave ----
'80-'81 had the Ford lettering on the hood, '82 was the first year for the oval in the grill, '82 was a lot of firsts for Ford, first year the 302 was marketed and marked as the 5.0L, first year for the 50 oz imbalance on the 302, first year for the Ford oval in the grill, first year for the one piece rear main seal, etc.
Correct on the colors, mine appears to be chrome with black headlight buckets but there is an option for argent silver headlight buckets also. Im personally torn between going with an all black grill (which I cant seem to find offered anymore) or a chrome and black grill. Never was a fan of the argent silver grill with all the bright metal trim around it.
This should help the OP how ever as places like NPD uses the OE numbers either in their number or a reference to show what OE number said reproduction part would be.
1980/81 F100/350, U150
E1TZ-8150-A : Dark Argent
E0TZ-8150-B : Chrome
E0TZ-8150-C : Black (r/b E1TZ-8150-A)
1983/86 F100/350, U150
E3TZ-8200-F : Light Argent & Black
E3TZ-8200-G : Chrome
E3TZ-8200-H : Dark Charcoal
All the grills how ever are the same mounting points and you can easily install a '82 - '86 grill with the Ford Oval in a '80 - '81 truck just like you can install a '80 - '81 grill in a '82 - '86 grill. What I find odd how ever is there is no black grill listing post 1981 but yet the XLS came with black out trim in the front.
Thanks for choosing Summit Racing! We're glad to hear you're happy with the grille and bezels. They look awesome on your black bullnose build! Good luck with the project, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need any help with parts selection in the future. We’re here to help every step of the way! We're just a post reply or PM away!
Great to see Summitracing on here. Back in our drag racing day's, 20 years ago, we got a lot of parts from them. My Big Maxx garage heater came from them also a couple of years ago. Their customer service helped me pick out the one I needed, the price was good too.
